Kuumba Academy is a school with a heart, serving students in Wilmington, grades K-8. Kuumba Academy creates a culture of love and trust based on high expectations. Students, staff, and families embody respect, responsibility, persistence, and creativity in order to contribute to our community.

To provide an innovative learning environment focused on the whole child. Kuumba Academy directors, staff, and parents share a core belief that parents are the primary educators of their children. We believe that every child can maximize his or her learning potential if given the opportunity to do so.

We are committed to being the highest-performing public charter school in Delaware, and to closing the achievement gap in Wilmington. Our students are our primary focus, and our goal is to help them build character, develop a strong sense of respect and solid work ethic, and succeed.
